Goodbye, Apathy by Jazelyn

Music spices up my life, without a doubt. Each song I listen to takes me away from a boring task, and I end up rocking out! Truly, with songs like the ones below, I can finally say goodbye to apathy!

1. Colorblind by Counting Crows
This song is so dark and mysterious. It's so hard for me to understand the song because I'm never so melancholy, but I know that there's people out there that need help. That's what's beautiful about this song--they relate to those people. At first, I thought this song was weird, but I fell in love with the numerous instruments and the words that you could just fall asleep to. I can't help but sing a phrase or two around the house.

2. Demons by Imagine Dragons
I love this song. It's catchy, the drums are amazing, the harmonies are beautiful, the electronic synth or whatever you want to call it. . . it's addictive. The song confuses me because it's so unique. I'm having a hard time typing this up while listening to this song because it distracts me. It's that great. I found out about this song from It's Time, also by the Imagine Dragons, and I'm very, very glad.

3. Hate & Love by Jack Savoretti feat. Sienna Miller
Hate & Love. . . This song is exactly what you thought of when you heard the title. However, the fact that the artists perfected that idea makes it so fantastic. I picture an "almost but not quite" relationship when I listen to this song. It makes me melt. And at the end, you feel like it should go on, but like that relationship I pictured, it doesn't. Like, woah.

4. What Can I Do (But Love You) by Joy Williams
It's such a cutesey song. I love the harmonies. The piano perfects it. Jessicajh, a YouTuber, posted a comment that wraps up my feelings very well: "This song is lovely :) She reminds me a lot of Ingrid Michaelson and A Fine Frenzy. Thanks for posting."

5. Goodbye, Apathy by OneRepublic
Now for the song that this whole piece of writing is based on! First, the percussion. At the beginning of the song, it felt like it was jumping from one ear to the other and back when I listened to it with earbuds. The piano sounds simple, but it adds that punch that I love. Yeah, goodbye, apathy!
