A/N: I'm starting to teach myself how to write poems. We're gonna do a poem unit in English, and at first, I dreaded it. The more I thought about it, I loved reading poems! I just didn't like the fact that I didn't have any ideas for poems. So now I'm working to enjoy the art, and write a little bit more of it!
Brown Eyes by Jazelyn
They are the clear waters of an island
They are the sky on a nearly cloudy day
They are a crystal ball, seeing all of you at once
But have you seen green eyes? they ask
They are the meadow you wish you had in your backyard
They are an emerald gem on your granny's necklace
They are the stem of a rose, thorny and fierce
You are forgetting about gray eyes, they exclaim
They are the haze that settles over a city
They are the clouds forming around the sun
They are a new sweater, cold but so light
Yet some boy among the crowd fails to mention
brown eyes
because he's thinking about a girl and smiling,
imagining her sparkling brown eyes
and hoping she thinks about his own
