Though the new blog is much cleaner, this blog and its numerous posts shouldn't be forgotten. So here it is: the original Journal of the Internet, in its youthful glory.
Long-time visitors of the site may know that this website used to be a lot more cluttered than it is now. Part of that clutter came from a massive blog with far too many post categories.

It's been far too long of a break since the last time I posted, so now that I'm on winter break, I can break that break. What?
Yes, hello. Hi. How are you? How is your grandma doing? Apologies if your grandma is no longer here with us, not after she went on that ship off to the Dog Island in which there lives the only dog doctor who can provide you with the medicine for your ill, dying dog brother. . . We haven't seen her in years, and I just can't afford to lose another member of the family. Do you understand me? I'm not allowing you to go aboard that ship on this stormy night, especially after we all saw shooting stars on the night of the festival. And everyone knows shooting stars are a sign of trouble afoot. I can just smell the trouble with my puppy nose, moistened just enough to signal a healthy dog. Your brother wouldn't know. And he never will, because as we've established, you're not dying for him. But guess what, you're gonna go on that ship anyway and sniff around for ghosts and probably die a couple of times because you forgot that you have to hold the bark button for effective attacks against snakes and bears. By now, it would be great for all of us if you just clicked the link I put in there. But enough about The Dog Island! Clearly we're all here for the (honestly intimidating) list of songs that I found and loved since the last post! Hopefully my computer can catch up. Lettuce go!
Happy Halloween Eve! I have the feeling I've said that before in another blog post, but I'm too lazy to make sure. Thanks to Nevada Day and several staff development days, I have a five-day weekend this Halloween, which is awesome. That's like an entire school week to not (extensively) worry about school. I've already watched so many old episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and it's amazing. (Also, when did Ryan and Colin get that much older?) Well, I've got my costume for tomorrow: the tooth fairy. It sounds all cute and innocent right now, and for the most part it is, but there is a twist I'm putting on it to make it a little unsettling. It's gonna be oh-so-spoopy.
A quarter of the school year has passed already and I miraculously survived it. I haven't watched YouTube videos in so long, it's tragic. Part of that survival is attributed to the two teachers I have that seem to subtly mention/flirt with each other during class, but it's just all in my head. Probably.
But like always, I need music to get through the afternoons spent doing unnecessarily difficult math problems. I think I'm in my chill trap phase of music, because it's the one genre I've been craving. So have some MTMT thrown at 'cha FACE!
Thanks to one of KickThePj's videos, I found this super pretty cover of Tonight You Belong To Me by Haley Blais and Quinn Bates. The audio sounds a little wonky, but the song is still nice!
Crywolf is a really rad artist that seems to belong with electronic/alternative music more than anything else. Wake [E-bow] seems more alternative if not poppy and it's been on repeat for days.
The Gioni remix of Runaway (U & I) by Galantis is so. . . hype. I'm gonna be that obnoxious person and say, "That drop tho!!" because wowzers. This song just fills you with so much energy!
For the last song of this spoopy MTMT, I shall CAUTION YOU OF CURSING. There's basically one a half different curse words in this song, but I guess it's still something to mention for those who would rather listen to something curse-free. Honestly, my favorite part is the first few seconds of it. It's actually a fairly sad song.
Well, there's that! Hope you guys have (or had) a fun, safe Halloween with the ones you love. I know I will, and I couldn't be happier. Eep, what am I doing getting sentimental? Small round green vegetables!
Not gonna lie, I was planning to post a long, inspirational post but I was more excited to post more music on this blog because ~music~! Music is just really exciting, man. It's especially more exciting now that I've accepted happier, more easygoing types of music. Also, when did YouTube make changing speed of videos a thing? Because I am having so much fun listening to some of these songs slowed down/sped up. But anyway, here we goooo!
It's been awhile since an update, so why the frick not ramble a bit about my life? . . . The blog title sounds like a horror film. The Happenings: the true story of the horrors that is life. HAH. Well, my birthday was on the third and it was pretty a'ight! I'm usually not one for super extravagant things. Like I'd rather mess around with my best friends at my house than. . . I dunno, spend a day at DisneyWorld with a front-of-the-line pass to all rides. But maybe that's the case because I loathe most park rides. Point is, I was very satisfied with a simple family dinner. Even though my brother brought his girlfriend along when I didn't really want her to come. Oh well. I saw Whitskit a few days ago at Target. In case you forgot who she is, you can see her abandoned website by clicking on her name. Apparently she's a silent stalker of this website and for some reason that pleases me. Hi Whit! (give me your Tumblr url hueheuehue) Wait a second. I'm suddenly sensing a shift in the atmosphere. . . What's that smell? *sniff sniff* Hmm, zebra. More specifically, blue zebra. Strange. Lately, I've been enjoying these lazy summer days in between getting service hours for my church and school. This means the Tubes, the Tumbles, the textings, the. . . book-readies. I've already read four books this summer, all of which have reviews over at the Books n' Reading Blog. Speaking of books, Scholastic has this thing with Kellogg's brand products where you can enter a code from inside the box to get a free book of your choosing! There's not too many books for my age group, but for the heck of it I ordered Bar Code Tattoo. It doesn't have the best name for a book (nor does it have all too impressive reviews on Goodreads) but it's absolutely free with the code. And many of you know I'm a sucker for free stuff. Also, my brother actually got me Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the 3DS! It has been amazing becoming the mayor of my dear town Luna. It seems like there's so much to discover in the game. Fun fact: I used to be a bit paranoid that people online or something would try to find me in real life, so when I was asked my town name in my first AC game I said "Nevada", not knowing I was creating a town completely unrelated to where I lived. Well, that was in the past. Heck, with the number of friends I publicly talk with online, other people are bound to know more about me than I originally disclosed. So I guess it can't be helped. The worst thing that happened this summer was the downfall of my iTouch, which I got for my birthday years ago. I've had troubles getting any help for it. Basically it's just a white screen with twitchy horizontal lines. The lines are thin and multicolored. It does "lock" by going to the black screen. I tried letting it die then charging it, and forcing a restart--nothing. I already restored it back to factory settings and I just restored its last backup. It didn't help, though. . . I guess it's something an Apple Genius will have to check up on. Whoops, that was a long post. To cut the text, have a nice gif. PERFECT. Now small round green vegetables!
After some technical difficulties involving a scanner, I finally got this rad wax resist watercolor painting that I made myself! It's nothing special. I just wanted something for MTMT that could look pretty and stuff.
Now it's only acceptable that I introduce this glorious art with some more more art in the form of sound. Gotta love dat music. There's only one song this time around but surely, that's gotta be enough to whet your appetite! First up is the song I most recently found: Kiss The Devil (Just A Gent Remix) by Bel Heir. The original has really good parts too but I appreciate the piano in this one. FYI, you can download this remix and others for free on Just A Gent's Facebook & SoundCloud pages!
I'm getting into more remixes, that's for sure. The remixes that add in more piano and orchestra stuff are the best though. . . Remember Davide Rossi's remix of True Love by Coldplay? Like, that reinvented the word remix for me.
Well, thanks for joining me in this short MTMT! Small round green veggies.
Today, I'll be talking about this site. In case you can't tell, the design here changed a bit! Considering how long I've had those fonts, it's a pretty important day.
I'm gonna be honest here, I wasn't too happy with how the website looked for the past few months. As Weebly (the gr8 one) started pumping out these website themes that looked really modern and simplistic, I looked at my site and felt inferior. I've been on the Internet for my whole life. I had my own site by the time I was 9! But back then, a lot of the creators around me were using Webs to look flashy and gif-y. You can see the appeal of sparkles to a bunch of 10-year-olds. I opted for the more muted look on my rad Weebly site *cough* go Weebly *spat*. More and more people started abandoning their sites for reasons I can't remember. In retrospect, there were probably two common reasons for this. One: maintaining a site is actually pretty time-consuming. Creators feel like they constantly have to churn out stuff for their readers. Two: they grew out of their own websites. I'm glad I never went too extreme with the fancy embellishments because I would be horrified of my site. That's child's play, man. Sparkles are too childish for this big girl. There was one site owner a while back that actually wrote a blog post about deleting her site. I probably talked about it on this blog, but basically she was saying that her site was childish and embarrassing. The early sites were pretty gross, honestly. Imagine a bunch of toddlers talking a lot of nonsense and spewing glitter. As these people grew up, they realized they wanted no evidence of the kiddie monsters they made. DELETE. (But I'm not kidding, glitter was everywhere.) No, my site was never as glittery. But I could still recognize the remnants of "child" throughout it. I was not okay with it. So you're asking, "Why didn't you change everything you didn't like?" You see, small tadpole, Weebly makes it slightly tricky when it comes to design. Changing a theme could wipe out all those glorious picture headers. It takes a lot of work to change all the components to your liking. Personally, I also had troubles with a thing called sentiment. For the longest time, I saw that old font and couldn't bring myself to change it. That font was a part of me for years! It represented the site in a way. So how am I supposed to change to an entirely different theme when I can barely let go of a font? Now that I've made the switch, I've got a bit more pride for this site. Though I still find some parts a bit icky, I can compromise look for functionality. You might not have any feelings on the subject, but that navigation menu is rad. I'm willing to make just a few tiny changes along the way. I'm also eager to add a few personal touches; I can't let a design and some photos online make up my entire site! I'm really into the handmade homepage header and I want to make more stuff like that. Maybe I'll make one in replace of the Journal of the Internet News and one for MTMT. New summer project, WOO! Well, thanks for reading! I originally wanted this to be a simple, lighthearted post but oh well. If you read through it all, kudos to you! Have this song as a reward: Be Together (Vanic Remix) by Major Lazer ft. Wild Belle! I'm really getting into those hip, electronic beetz, right kids??!
100 songs, what are you talking about? No one said anything about 100 songs. *cough* Well, enjoy another 20 songs under the cut!
A month of summer vacation has already passed for me and I think I've spent it wisely. Who am I kidding, my priorities are basically out the window. I could've easily finished two books in a month but why do that when wifi exists? Also, I wrote in 70 pages of my actual journal in less than a month. I've burned through two whole pens. That's productivity fo sho! Other than secret fic-writing and reading books, what have I been up to? I revisited Animal Crossing: Wild World once more but I really miss Rhythm Heaven. I can't believe I only mentioned that game ONCE on this entire site when it was a part of my childhood for a long while. The Wii game, Rhythm Heaven Fever, seems more popular though. I've been to listening to music from that game nonstop! I basically know how to play that game just by the YouTube videos I've watched. I'm not sure if I'm traveling this summer. My family and I almost went to Los Angeles where I could've experienced the Diamond Anniversary in Disneyland but I doubt it'll happen now. Imagine the World of Color then! The prettiest of fireworks would appear in the night sky. . . Recently, I've been going to sleep so late! Going to bed is different. I usually go up to bed at eleven at night or midnight, then I stay up and read/write/scroll through Tumblr/watch videos until at least one in the morning. At the start of vacation I was up until five in the morning many nights but a morning event shifted my sleeping schedule slightly. Speaking of sleep, school has been haunting me in my dreams. I miss my small group of friends from school, but other than that, I don't miss school at all. After all, I can still text and get together with my friends outside of school! Two nights ago I dreamed about being in the streets of Italy with people from my school, including the guy I had choir with for two years. Then I ended up in a class with my Spanish teacher where I stayed after school ended. I watched a movie in class until I woke up. Last night I dreamed that the bell rang to be dismissed and as I walked to lunch, two acquaintances of mine showed up. I walked down the stairs with them but for some reason I was incapable of looking at my feet. Before we all went out separate ways, the girl on my left touches the necklace of the girl on my right and says, "I like your bracelet!" I laugh. End of dream. Also, as I drowsily drifted out of sleep, I thought of how I would make a blog post about my dreams. I was going to say that there was a maelstorm of dreams about school, then I later realized that the correct word was "maelstrom". I have decided that "maelstorm" makes more sense and is also cooler. Maelstrom definition: (n) a situation or state of confused movement or violent turmoil Good thing I didn't use that word because not only would I have spelled it wrong, but the sentence itself would probably make no sense. You learn something new everyday, kiddos!
I'll be changing the site title from (happy birthday!) to hope your knee gets soon, thanks to this YouTube video. Ryan Higa and the RHPC is A+! By the way, my birthday is on August 3. Eat cake on that day! And if you don't like cake, have some nice banana bread. And if you're vegan, enjoy a nice selection of fruits. Enjoy yourselves because I want you guys to celebrate your awesomeness! As always, small round green vegetables! Can you believe this very site has been active for five whole years??! That's crazy. I'll save the thank yous for the multiple MTMT posts. I'm actually super embarrassed because I apparently am unable to count. There's not exactly 100 songs, but 80, because I suck at calculations. I even said that there would be five parts! I guess working until one in the morning doesn't keep you sane. You think an honors geometry student would at least know her multiples of 5. . . I *might* make it up to you guys with another 20 songs soon? I don't know. I'm gonna edit out all the stuff saying there's 100 songs, because I don't want to look like a complete dork. I am, though. I'll admit it. I mean, it's not the first time I made a mistake counting. Note that this site was launched in 2010, and the following text is from the post that I made for the 2014 birthday. THREE YEARS OLD. This was just last year, folks. Even then I admitted I was a doofus. Doof-tastic Jazelyn, right here. Why does no one tell me how wrong I am, lol? Be as outspoken as the people on YouTube comments, I can handle it. Should we have another tradition? How about a birthday doodle? I dunno, I feel like doodling so have this beautiful piece of art made by yours truly. Thanks for being awesometatiousful! (Wow, haven't used that word in a long while.) Small round green vegetables!
