Now for the thoughts, ideas, and self-discoveries of the 2012 Best Song of the Year!
Here are the things I completely cannot live without: Internet and music. But let's talk about music.
Music is extremely important to me. Imagine, one song can describe someone's life, their emotions. And it comes in so many ways. There's a multitude of genres, and it can include lyrics or not.
Lyrics are great. They pinpoint what the artist is feeling or wanting to feel or wanting others to feel. The special thing about songs without lyrics is that they can tell a story without actually talking. And they can almost apply to everyone, since each person can create a story that fits that song.
So my 2012 best song has no lyrics. And the actual song is Ice Dance by Danny Elfman, from the movie Edward Scissorhands.
I've already gone through this on the Journal of the Internet. The first time I listened to it, I thought, "Wow, this is good." The second time I listened to it, I thought, "Wow, this is fantastic." And here's some quotes from my regular blog:

"If this was the only song I'd ever listen to in my life, I would
a) be extremely contented,
b) cry a whole lot cuz' FEELS, and
c) just explode."
"I dunno, it just feels like it describes life in general. There's some sad parts, some magical parts, some truly amazing parts, but in the end, you know it's a life lived well. *goosebumps*
It makes me feel nostalgic and a little sad those memories are from the past, but then again, it assures me that there's still more memories waiting to be created.
It makes me think of what could've been.
It makes me believe that there's beauty in everything even when I live in a less than perfect world.
It give me the impression that the world is so vast yet so delicate."
"It's vague and general, but it could precisely describe one's life in a heartbeat. And that's what makes it beautiful."
Sometimes I wish all the music programs at school would just come together and do a piece so grand and magical, like this. It'd be so great, and I really think it'd unify the whole school.
So, I applaud you Mr. Elfman! Congrats for creating, in my opinion, the 2012 Best Song of the Year!
