Date Night by Jazelyn
"Hey, are you R.L. Stine?" he greeted, sitting casually at her table. "Because you're giving me goosebumps."
She looked down and giggled, "Wow, I'm sure you lure in all the ladies with that one. Uh, my name's Bella, like from the Twilight books?"
He shrugged. "I wouldn't know, I don't read that weird vampire and werewolf stuff! But my name's Parker."
The two chatted over coffee for a while. At first there was nothing to talk about except the weather, but the conversation quickly turned. Apparently they had tons of similarities. They both found that 'N Sync the best band ever, cold and rainy days were appreciated, and they were allergic to peanut butter. Actually, these all applied to Bella. But if it meant Parker would grow closer to her, he was willing to lie.
Her phone vibrated on the table. "Ooh, I'm gonna have to go soon. But you seem really nice! I'd love to have you for dinner. I can text you my address later, I'm in a bit of a rush. Let me write down my number for you. . ."
Parker was mentally jumping in excitement as she handed him a slip of paper with numbers scrawled on to it. "Thanks. So, about what time? Eight okay?"
She smiled as she dug around in her tote bag. "Sounds great. I'll see you later!"
He came to her door with flowers. She almost laughed in his sorry face. But she knew she had to wait. "Hi!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms around him.
"I've got to be honest, I'm really happy I'm having dinner with you tonight," he sighed, handing her the bouquet.
She grabbed the fresh-smelling daisies before closing the door behind him. "Um, yeah! Thank you for these, and you know, for coming."
"Of course. So what are you making over there?"
She glanced at the stove. "Mmm, just a sauce for now. It pairs really well with meat. I'm planning to prepare some steak later."
"It's like I'm the steak and you're the sauce! We pair really well!" Parker joked.
Bella forced a chuckle. She really couldn't stand his pick-up lines and mediocre jokes, but it would all be worth it. She just had to stick with the plan. She got out a knife and a cutting board before Parker walked up from behind her.
"So, do you need any he--" He looked down at the sharp pain in his side. The blade Bella was holding was now stuck in his stomach, dripping with his own blood. "H-help," he croaked.
"Oh? You want help?" Bella laughed darkly. "I thought you wanted me to have you for dinner."
A/N: iknowthatwasbadbutwhatever Yeah, the ambiguous line was "I'd love to have you for dinner." I thought I could make it obvious at the end, but it didn't turn out how I wanted it. Well, thanks for reading anyway.
