1. Get an idea
2. Think of a title
I dunno, I simply must always start a story with a title. It's usually one word. I know, I have the option to write the story and then make a title because it's easier to form a title for the story you already made. But for me, it's the other way around. If the title is basically the main subject or point of the story, it's easy for me to think of that one word or phrase and think of ideas for the story. But if I really can't think of anything, I'll just leave a space up at the top for me to write in later. |
3. Start!
4. Think differently
I'm constantly thinking of the story as a whole. Have I used a certain word multiple times throughout a paragraph? How can I make this story better? This is a big reason as to why it takes me 10.4 million years to finish 3 sentences. I don't like slopping out work unless it's midnight on a school night. But you know what this thinking leads to. |
