It's one of those magical times where I post a bunch of unknown music! WHOO! Lately I've been really into Coldplay. . . what am I saying, I've always been into Coldplay! But there's a few songs that have been really tickling my fancy. First up, Warning Sign! Now here's Gravity. (Guess who has two thumbs and knows how to play this on the piano? THIS GURRRRL!) Now for some upbeat stuff! A Sky Full of Stars! Another band that I love is OneRepublic! Their fairly new song Love Runs Out is, like, my baby. The end is my favorite part. Haha, speaking of OneRepublic, here's Burning Bridges. 6 minutes of ear candy! Here's Selection by The Noisy Freaks! I guess all ear candy is in 6 minutes. Here's Odyssey by Dream Koala! Well, that was about a half hour of music to keep you going. I would've added more, but whatev! Until next time!

Guess who has two thumbs and only has 9 and a half days of middle school left? THIS GURRRL!
Also, guess who's really sorry for not updating a website often? THIS GURRRL! Yes, 9.5 school days until I am a "high schooler". I won't feel like a high schooler. I'll feel like a girl who's super excited to spend her days doing nothing. Yes, for once I'm excited to get out of school. Usually I'm groaning about how I'll miss everyone and how I'm worried I won't see a lot of my friends the next year. Those feelings should be reasonable now that kids I've known since elementary school are going to other schools and friends I've known for a long while are moving away. But for some strange reason, I'm just not that affected. I think it's because of the work. Math homework. Every. Single. Day. I have a 2-inch binder that's about to explode with notes and assignments. I've got 2 study guides for the finals at the moment, and we're still doing projects in science. This blog post became a rant. I don't like it. I don't like moping, but I do a lot of it on here, huh? Shucks. On the bright side, all that work paid off cuz' I earned straight A's for all three years in middle school! Meaning an award of a KINDLE from the school! Or money. Either way, I'll be shoving it in people's faces! :D Well, before I leave for about two weeks, I just wanna say if you guys wanna tell me something, go ahead and leave a comment or something! I'm all ears. I'm interested. Tell me about yourselves. DO IT. See ya! I have a break from all work for a whole week and I'm ready to STAY INDOORS! Oh, you thought I was going to say party? Don't be ridiculous! It's been forever since I've updated this site and it's horrible! I might as well hire my dog to headbutt the keyboard and post it here. Well, now to update. Here's some I went to Disneyland! alsdjfhksaldfh It was amazing! It was for a choir trip on the 5th, and we may have only got second place, but I got to really bond with my classmates. And ohmyglob, World of Color! The fireworks lit up the whole place at night, I LOOOOVED it! And I got these really cute sequin Minnie ears. Memories. . .
So yo. Like, all my favorite artists have these STUPID good songs! Burning Bridges by OneRepublic? My jam! Human by Christina Perri? My other jam! I have so! many! JAMS! And the acoustic of Warning Sign by Coldplay isn't new, but it's still my JAM! Also, I'm surprised I forgot to tell you guys: I'm learning how to play the piano! Nothing fancy, to teachers, just YouTube tutorials for different songs! I can play Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, and I'm trying to learn Spell by Marie Digby. *so excited* How're you guys doin? You feelin' funky fresh? You feelin' swaggy? I hope you are! How was your April Fools'? I didn't get majorly fooled, did you? I'm gonna make the whole world deaf with all of your screams, doo dalla doo dalla dooo~ I spent Valentine's Day at home cuz' of Staff Development Day, which I guess wasn't so bad since it meant a four-day weekend. Yet, people still went around school with teddy bears and red gift bags on Thursday. Where are my cookies? Hmm, how I come I don't get an embarrassing amount of roses? WHERE ARE MY FRIKKIN' DONUTS?! *ahem* No bitter feelings, though. Cuz' I've got some awesome friends that exchange great Comic Sans valentines with me, so it's all good! Hey girl are you my appendix cuz' I don't know how you work but this feeling inside my stomach makes me want to take you out Hey girl are you blocking my arteries cuz' you're making my heart beat irregularly Hey girl are you Justin Bieber cuz' you're smokin' But seriously guys, don't be disappointed if you didn't have a special Valentine's Day. If you reeeeeaaally think about it, Valentine's Day is just another day. People should show their appreciation for one another everyday, but instead we only choose one day. Whatever. Have a great day, guys! Until next time, losers <3
Pentatonix consists of talented, hilarious people. I realized how obsessed I was with them while studying for freakin' HUGE-20%-OF-MY-GRADE-STRESSFUL-BIG-DEAL semester exams. Or midterms, whatever you want to call it. Boop boop.
Do you know what I'm not obsessed with? Inappropriate comments. Yeah, I get it, inappropriate comments are all over YouTube and really any social media site, but that's because it's hard to control that many people. This site can be for an older audience, but that doesn't mean they want to look at irrelevant comments that could be considered offensive. So until millions of people randomly start visiting this site (wink wink!), I will have to approve every single comment before publishing. Meaning, it could take days or even weeks for your comment to be posted. I'm sorry guys, but unless you saw the comment, you wouldn't know how obscene that comment was. For a site like this, it was considered horrid. Those comments aren't tolerated, and you're not helping anyone by trying to post them. So last year I did 2012 Song of the Year. And you know whenever you do ___ of the ___, you're gonna have to keep on the tradition. Like, did any songs have an impact on me emotionally? Pfft, no! Maybe. Yes. So does that mean the one with the most "oh em gee"s is awarded 2013 Song of the Year? Year? Year? Year? Year? Year? Year? Got a bit carried away with that, hmm? And the answer is not necessarily. Cuz' I looked in the Oh Em Gee tag, and the songs that I thought were good nominees just weren't there. Ooh. Nominees. Maybe laying it out will help me decide. The first music post of 2013 was Perfection and Pirates, and I really loved Perfection by Oh Land. Her outfit's a bit crazy in the video, but when did that matter? This live performance was so elaborate with the orchestra and choir. Aweeesomee! Oh, Goosebumps. You bring back memories. Finale by Madeon (still have no idea how to pronounce that) was an awesome song. If I worked out, I would work out to this song. Instead I imagine dramatic stories that would have this in the background. Or mouth it in the mirror. Either way, I like it a lot! There were a lot of songs in the post Ninja + Others, but Time by Hans Zimmer simply was the best. I love soundtracks, and I can only think back to last year, where a soundtrack title was the song of the year! Will this take the cake, hmmm?? Now for a rockin' tune. Hott was a post with the glorious song, Inside a Boy by My Brightest Diamond. Now I'm quoting here: "The intro was just really cool and beautiful and then BOOM! Enter the drums and guitar." And also: "I've been having this on repeat for twelve thousand years, give or take some." Enough said. Updates + Music + Other Stuff was a lovely post. Not only did it have the AWESOME Touch by Daft Punk feat. Paul Williams, it has a Wordle! I will do a Wordle to wrap up the year. I will. *And I swe-e-ear. . .* Dead Hearts. Dear, oh, dear. You know how children go through phases in their lives? The "lol, random" phase? The "scene" phase? Possibly the "emo" phase? I'm convinced I had my own Dead Hearts by Stars phase. I just ah-dored that song, ah-dored it so much it's almost embarrassing. The lyrics meant something more than spooky ghosts! I think any angsty story deserves this song in the background. Nominee fo sho. More angst! Yaayyy! I won't be talking about "get up, get up, get out of my head!!!", no sirree. Get Up had a song with the same title, by Barcelona. Um, yes! I liked the harmonies, like I do in every song that has harmonies. Geeeeeeett, uuuuppppppp. . . Music Time for the Millionth Time was an amazing post. It had a lot of great songs that no one really knew about :) It had Starman by the City of Prague Philharmonic. In case you didn't know, this was sampled to create Dan Black's Symphonies! Oh and what's this? Two nominees in one post??! Yep, Music Time for the Millionth Time also had Mosquito by Ingrid Michaelson. Beautiful. That's all you can really say about this song. Definitely deserves a spot on the nominee list! So that was 9 nominees! Oh gawd, hard decisions make sudden regrets. . . Let's twist this into, like, an American Idol result show. The votes are in, and everyone is just dying to hear the results! Perfection, Time, Inside a Boy, Dead Hearts, and Starman: You are all safe! Now the song with the most votes issss: *awkward silence* Inside a Boy by My Brightest Diamond! *wild applause* Okay, here's why I chose this song. Like any other super long post I do, I got a bit tired thinking of stuff near the end. The soundtracks? Great. Eleborate orchestras? Awesome. Dead Hearts? Lovely. But as I went through and listened to all of these songs, they seemed played out. Yes, they brought back memories, but the one song that I still loved as much as I did when I first heard it? Inside a Boy. And if a song can do that, it deserves to be recognized. I'm sure noneofya guessed that, huh?! And to wrap up 2013, let's make a beautiful Wordle. I don't know about you, but I think it's perfect. I love how near the middle, going down it says "Maybe want year back". Color schemes, man!!!
I love you guys. According to my stats, there's almost 350 of you guys visiting my website, and it may even be more. It's unbelievable. My request for you this new year for this site? Start commenting! Tell me about yourself because 350 people are bound to have some different stories to share, and I'd love to hear them! 2014, peeps. Some crazy crap will ensue! Now small round green vegetables! It's 2:50 am, and I am here watching YouTube videos. One YouTube video, however, tends to tickle my fancy every year. Let the craziness unroll in this fantastic, feel-jerking video known as YouTube Rewind 2013! The people! The references! The memories! I probably seem very strange to you right now, but YouTube is one of my loves. No joke. I think I know everyone except one in the picture above. I even understand the goats, it's just. . . AUGH!
Yep, now it's 3 am. I'm sure I'll stop procrastinating on that book project tomorrow. Happy watching, and g'night-morning! The lovely season started yesterday, meaning Winter Break! I definitely need the break, even though I'll still be working over the break. . . It is unacceptable to not be blogging for a month.
So, Christmas is in 3 days! l;shdlksaflhsaflh I'm so excited! And yo, if you guys wanna tell me about your special holiday traditions (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, WHATEVER!), I'm all for that! And, ohmigawsh! Did you see those little updates Weebly made with design??! I'm definitely gonna have some fun with that. Well, guys, short post, but I just wanted to update you guys on my work-filled life :) Merry Christmas ya filthy animal! Yesterday was Halloween. I was a lovely Little Red Riding Hood while my brother was a zombie that threw himself onto little trick-or-treaters. But let's just forget the next big holiday, Thanksgiving, and move straight to the holidays! Because that's basically what choir at school is. Holiday, snow, bells, dinnnnngggg, donnnnnng. Yep, that's it. Now for eating mangoes in a mango tree. (Like the monkeys.) KAY BYE.
Lettuce ketchup. Get it? Lettuce ketchup. Let us catch up. *wild applause* Yes, lettuce ketchup on some more music. Because I just love my music. MyMusic, to be specific. They've featured some music by Driftless Pony Club, like this song during the finale: Mountains and Ruins. 2:20 to the end is my favorite part :) Everyone knows Imagine Dragons, right? Well thanks to Jill, I have discovered their iTunes Live Session of Radioactive! Ah-mazing! Now for one of those radio pop hit songs that gets in my head, Clarity by Zedd. I just really like her voice! Discovering songs on YouTube is awesome. And so is Eyes Closed by The Narrative! Ingrid Michaelson is an amazing artist, and I have discovered one of her supposed songs on the Tube, Mosquito. It doesn't sound that much like her, but I still like the song. Here we go! It the night of the advanced music programs concert at my school, and I was chilling in the car when I heard this song on the radio: Cops and Robbers by Bean! It's really catchy! Related videos are really awesome, because you end up finding good songs you weren't really looking for. Because of the video above, I found the strange Cops and Robbers by, not Bean, but The Hoosiers! Well, I found the orchestra piece that Dan Black sampled for Symphonies. If you like orchestra pieces that are beautiful, this one's for you. Here's Starman by the City of Prague Philharmonic. Who knows what the video's about, but you know. Michael Jackson? Is that Michael Jackson? Just listen to the darn music! For the Avatar lovers out there, Adriana Figueroa uploaded an original song for Yue from the series, called Daughter Of The Moon. I love the ending and her voice, oh gawsh! Now for some cool music videos! The one on the left is How To Write An Indie Rock Anthem (watch until the very end!), and the other one is the Evolution of Music by Pentatonix (ze harmonies! even the "hey", what the heckkkk)
Well, that was the longest "music time" we've ever had. If you read and watched all of this one video at a time, you've spent about 40 minutes on this post! Which you probably haven't. Cuz' I'm pretty sure I have the strangest taste in music that you guys aren't interested in. You know, whatever! This is sort of my way of recording music I like.
By the way, there's no school for me today. In case you're wondering, "Ummm, it's 1:00 over there, Jazelyn! Water you doing?" I actually only have a two-day school week, and I'm soooo happy! I've been working hard for the past 2 months. 2 months already, eh? I've already finished a book. Gotta work on the Ashes of Twilight book review, even though I already wrote a *mediocre* 6-paragraph essay on it. I guess I do my best when I'm interested in what I'm doing. I mean, I was interested in the book, not writing a 6-paragraph essay about it. . . Hmm, that was a l-o-n-g post. At least I can listen to 40 minutes of music while studying for the science test I have only day to study for. Le sigh. Small round green veggies! Wait. . . no, I just remembered! One more video! If you like Rhett and Link like me, there's news goin' 'round about a #GMM war! Watch here if you're interested, and now, small round green vegetables! |
